Amon is a tiefling monk I played in a D&D 5e campaign from 2018 to 2025 - DM: Valentin P.
Amon grew up in the Wa monastery, his parents gave him away as they didn't have the means to raise him. Despite this, he had a peaceful childhood, surrounded by other young aspirants. The monks follow the teachings of Ohm, and they value equilibrium, and being wise enough to preserve the balance between the forces at play in the world. One motto they have is 'do not do anything without thinking about what you cannot undo when it will be done'.
When he comes of age, Amon leaves the monastery to begin a pilgrimage, one that every apprentice has to go through. It's a journey from which something of value (it can be anything from an item to untangible things like knowledge) has to be brought back to the monastery. It can last a couple of weeks, to years, to some of the monks even choosing not to return.
Raziel, Amon's lover, is an NPC and my DM plays him, but he asked me to draw/refine his design since he ended up being so important in Amon's story.
Amon fell for Raz instantly when they met. Raz is a wizard, working for an underground mob-type boss, a tiefling called Xerx. The party has to help Xerx with an errand, and Raz was the one to guide the party to the location.
Raziel's line of work initially made him distrust Amon, thinking there is no way anyone can be this nice and genuine. But as Amon kept coming for advice and showed that he genuinely cared for Raziel, who isn't used to this at all, he started developing feelings for him. He still doesn't rly understand why such a hero would choose to spend time with him beyond just their professional relationship.
It took them smth like a year to get together so my party calls the couple Slow Burn since it also fits with Raziel being a fire genasi and Amon being fire resistant (eheh)
