Tristel is a battlemaster fighter I play in an ongoing - currently on hiatus - homebrewed 5e campaign called Fates Anew - DM: Fay

He is in his mid 40s, I play him in a world created by Fay. The setting is more low fantasy than the Forgotten Realms. The magic fount in this world disappeared with the continent of the Elves, destroyed 5 centuries before the campaign; magic still exists but only flows strongly in places of power. The party travels the lands, and as their fellowship grew they founded a travelling caravan called the Tangent, which expands little by little as a bunch of the NPCs they meet join it.

The main antagonising forces in the campaign are the followers of Goroth, the god of savagery - goblins, trolls, hobgoblins, gnolls, etc - and abyssans, creatures born from the void between the stars. The party also faces beasts and monsters when travelling on the dangerous roads of the realm.

Tristel himself is the only member that doesn't wield magic in the main party.

What he lacks in the arcane he makes up for in physical strength, and battle experience. Trained in his youth to be a noble's bladeservant, he has had ample opportunities to apply that knowledge in actual combat since, having travelled extensively around the continent and beyond. During his journey, he sustains himself by doing odd jobs here and there, mostly doing physical labour or as a hired blade.

He even served in a war after he was drafted to defend a city from an invasion during one of his mercenary jobs. He then stayed with a pocket of deserters to help the local populace when the King ordered retreat.

Appearance: tall (191.7cm/6”3’), tan skinned man. He is fit from doing physical labour or fighting most of his life which also left numerous scars over his body, a noticeable one on his left cheek from a blow that also split his left ear. Thick dark, wavy hair with a grey streak above his forehead, muted light blue eyes. Wielding a flamberge that is hard to miss, he wears mismatched armor (he had to replace some elements over time) under a dark, worn red cloak.
