this year, i got reaaally into dungeons and dragons... alongside my friend Eva, we drew a great amount of our two characters Claire (my big white haired lass in armor wielding a greatsword) and Trym (her lovable little rascal of a halfling). after the campaign wrapped up, we weren't ready to say goodbye to them - this will be a recurring theme when i create characters for ttrpg... we developed their story under the project name Sword & Dagger. in 2018 i also did inktober fully for the first and last time, and i themed it around that project.
all in all this is one of the years where i remember having the most fun with my art ever. being able to get excited about your characters with another person is simply the best motivator there is, in my opinion... style-wise, i think it's visible that i started working in animation, i tried to stylize proportions a lot more, and my use of colours became more intentional! i will later end up reining it back in. it's been really fun seeing those phases with more clarity while putting this website together.
